In response to congregational feedback, effective immediately is our new Worship Schedule:
The first Shabbat weekend of each month (Friday night and Saturday morning) is designated as a Learners Shabbat for those desiring additional instruction on the meaning and structure of the prayer service.
Friday Evening Shabbat Services: Friday evenings at 7:00 PM. Special services, such as Friday Night Live or Religious School class Shabbatot, will begin at 6:30 PM. On the fourth Friday night of every month, we encourage our members to enjoy intimate Friday evening Shabbat dinners at home with family and/or other congregants; we will continue to feature a service led by lay leaders on the fourth Friday of the month at 7:00 PM. Please check the Temple calendar for specific weekly scheduling.
Saturday morning: 9:30 AM
Temple Hatikvah, located in Flanders, NJ, is an engaged and dynamic Jewish community, originally founded in 1969 and is a member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. This egalitarian, Conservative synagogue has built a reputation for strong Jewish values with emphasis on education and social action. Our weekly Shabbat Services are led by Rabbi Scott Roland. We provide an excellent Jewish education program through our Religious School and Adult Education classes with B’nai Mitzvah classes, supplementary and enrichment programs for children as well as adults.
Temple Hatikvah is an inclusive Congregation with members of varied levels of observance; interfaith families and Jews by choice are an integral part of our synagogue family. We appreciate and welcome diverse family structures into our community. Temple Hatikvah, with its active Men’s Club, Sisterhood, and youth groups for children of all ages, is truly a community in every sense of the word. Membership categories cover many demographics including families, interfaith families, singles, seniors, and young families/young singles.
